Parts: Parts Gross Profit Report vs. Parts Sales for a Time Period

Introduction

This document provides an explanation of two different parts reports and why they differ.

Problem Description

The total of report 3-3-22 is different from the total in report 3-3-15. Same date range is used on both reports.

Solution

Each report will pull the data differently.

The 3-3-22 report (Parts Gross Profit) is pulling the discounted line amounts. This report will also include discounts on parts invoices.

For work orders, the 3-3-22 report selects parts that were sold in the date range specified.

1

Report 3-3-15 report pulls the list prices from the invoice. This report does not include discounts on parts invoices.

For work orders, the 3-3-15 report will select work orders whose finalized date is within the date range specified in the prompts and will display all the parts sold, regardless of the date they were added to the work order.
