This document provides a walk through on how to uninstall Astra G2 and reinstall the program.
If the dealership received a G2 update, there may be some computers that are not able to get the update. If any other issues point to a bad update, the dealership should uninstall and reinstall the Astra G2 program on the affected PC’s.
Try the following steps on the affected PC:
Uninstall G2 from the add/remove programs list. To do this, the user will need to the Control Panel and then click on Programs and then Program and Features. Locate the G2 Client Install in the list of programs and Uninstall it.
Once the user has uninstalled G2, Browse to c:\idsastra\apps\g2\g2client. Delete all files in that folder. Click on the Start button at the bottom left corner of the computer screen. Find Computer and double click. A new window will open:
Double click on Local Disk (C:) locate the IDSASTRA folder and open the folder.
The user will need to open the IDSASTRA folder and locate the Apps folder.
Open the Apps folder and locate the G2 folder.
Open the G2 folder and then the G2 Client Folder.
Once the G2CLIENT folder is open, the user will need to delete all files within the G2CLIENT folder.
Once the files have been deleted the next step will be to Browse to c:\idsastra. Right click it and choose Properties.
Uncheck “read only” and then click the security tab and add each user with full control rights to that folder.
Next the user will again find the Start button at the bottom left corner of the computer screen. Find Computer and double click. A new window will open, double click the Local Disk (C:)
Locate the IDSASTRA folder, right click, move the cursor down and choose Properties. Uncheck “read only”
While the user has the Properties window open, click the Security tab and add all users with full control rights to that folder.
Once this step is done, the user will open Traditional Astra and from the main menu click on 10-1 to reinstall Astra G2.
